Nominations Announced for Sports, Children’s and Short-Form Television Programs
for 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards
 

 

LOS ANGELES (December 16, 2022 at 8am PT) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today nominations in its television specialty categories for the 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards. Winners will be announced in Los Angeles and New York at the Guild’s Nominee Events the week of February 19, 2023. Exact event dates and locations will be announced soon.

The 2023 Producers Guild Awards nominees in the Sports, Children’s and Short Form categories are listed below in alphabetical order by category. The PGA does not vet the individual producers of Sports, Children’s and Short Form Television Programs.

 The Award for Outstanding Sports Program

  • Formula 1: Drive to Survive (Season 4)
  • Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions (Season 17)
  • Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers (Season 1)
  • McEnroe (Special)
  • Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off (Special)

The Award for Outstanding Children's Program

  • Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock (Season 1)
  • Green Eggs and Ham (Season 2)
  • Sesame Street (Season 52)
  • Snoopy Presents: It's the Small Things, Charlie Brown (Special)
  • Waffles + Mochi's Restaurant (Season 1)

The Award for Outstanding Short-Form Program

  • Better Call Saul: Filmmaker Training (Season 4)
  • Love, Death + Robots (Season 3)
  • Only Murders in the Building: One Killer Question (Season 2)
  • Sesame Street's #ComingTogether Word of the Day Series (Season 1)
  • Tales of the Jedi (Season 1)

The remaining nominations for Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Television Series/Specials, Limited or Anthology Series Television, and Televised or Streamed Motion Pictures will be announced January 12, 2023. Winners of these categories will be announced at the Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at The Beverly Hilton.

At the Producers Guild Awards ceremony in February, the Producers Guild will also present special honors to powerhouse producers and leaders who have left their undeniable marks on the industry. Honorees this year include Tom Cruise (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Mindy Kaling (Norman Lear Achievement Award), Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy (Milestone Award) with recipients of the Stanley Kramer Award and the Visionary Award to be announced soon.

The 2023 Producers Guild Awards Event Chairs are Mike Farah, Chief Executive Officer at Funny Or Die, and Joe Farrell, Chief Creative Officer at Funny Or Die. The 2023 Producers Guild of America Awards are produced by Anchor Street Collective for the Producers Guild of America. Branden Chapman is Executive Producer, Carleen Cappelletti is Co-Executive producer, Matt Ullian and Jane Sarkin of Boldface Partners are talent executives, and Jim Piccirillo is Director. The PGA Awards team also includes Diane Salerno (Six Degrees Global) managing sponsorship, and the PGA’s PR agency of record, Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis for PR.
