FEATURE FILM

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the FEATURE FILM category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWO (2) FEATURE FILMS released within the last SEVEN (7) YEARS*, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Theatrical exhibition for a minimum of one (1) week in two (2) U.S. cities/markets with a population of at least one (1) million people each
  • Verifiable wide commercial release on Blu-ray (or the latest industry adopted physical media)
  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • VOD by a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List
  • Screen as an official selection in any of the film festivals listed under the Qualifying Film Festivals List

*For ANIMATED, TEN (10) YEARS


SHORT FILM

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the SHORT FILM category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of FIVE (5) SHORT FILMS with an individual runtime of forty (40) minutes or less released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broad theatrical exhibition
  • Verifiable wide commercial release on Blu-ray (or the latest industry adopted physical media)
  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • VOD by a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List
  • Screen as an official selection in any of the film festivals listed under the Qualifying Film Festivals List

EPISODIC TELEVISION (SCRIPTED)

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the EPISODIC TELEVISION (SCRIPTED) category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of EIGHT (8) EPISODES of half hour or one hour scripted “episodic or limited series” television (comedy or drama) released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • Aired on a major channel in a local market of a U.S. city with a population over one (1) million people
  • VOD availability in the U.S. thru a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List

NON-FICTION TELEVISION (SERIES)

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the NON-FICTION TELEVISION (SERIES) category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWENTY (20) EPISODES of half hour or one hour “nonfiction series” television (reality, doc, competition) released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • Aired on a major channel in a local market of a U.S. city with a population over one (1) million people
  • VOD availability in the U.S. thru a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List

NON-EPISODIC TELEVISION

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the NON-EPISODIC TELEVISION category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of ONE HUNDRED (100) EPISODES of "non-episodic" television programs (i.e., talk shows, serials, variety series, game shows, news) which broadcasts FIVE (5) episodes weekly released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • Aired on a major channel in a local market of a U.S. city with a population over one (1) million people
  • VOD availability in the U.S. thru a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List

SPECIAL EVENT TELEVISION

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the SPECIAL EVENT TELEVISION category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWO (2) SPECIAL EVENT TELEVISION PROGRAMS (i.e. major broadcast specials, live event specials) with a MINIMUM runtime of NINETY (90) MINUTES released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • Aired on a major channel in a local market of a U.S. city with a population over one (1) million people
  • VOD availability in the U.S. thru a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List

STANDALONE TELEVISION

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the STANDALONE TELEVISION category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of FIVE (5) STAND-ALONE TELEVISION PROGRAMS (a.k.a. “specials”) with a runtime of no less than 30 minutes and no greater than 90 minutes released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as ONE (1) of the following:

  • Broadcast nationally in the U.S. domestic territory
  • Aired on a major channel in a local market of a U.S. city with a population over one (1) million people
  • VOD availability in the U.S. thru a major television network or cable/satellite television provider
  • Streamed in the U.S. on a subscription VOD platform listed under the Qualifying Platform List

This category does not include “specials” that are part of a series program.


DIGITAL SHORT FORM

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the DIGITAL SHORT FORM category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a CUMULATIVE TOTAL of THREE (3) HOURS of professional short form content, consisting of a MINIMUM of FIVE (5) UNIQUE PROJECTS released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

Projects submitted:

  • Must have an average running time of at least five (5) minutes and no greater than fifteen (15) minutes.
  • Are distributed online and publicly available through major video-sharing websites, and/or curated streaming channels and platforms that are not considered under feature film and television.

You MUST also provide a RESUME that includes a list of all released/launched projects and credits from the last FIVE (5) YEARS, with these categories of information:

  • Year of release/launch
  • Title of the project/production
  • Credit received
  • Format (e.g. XR/VR/AR, special venue, video game, digital short, etc)
  • Form of distribution/exhibition (e.g. platform, console, website, etc) *
  • # of episodes (if applicable)
  • Running time (if applicable) - Or cumulative running time of all episodes combined
  • URL (if available)

VIDEO GAME

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the VIDEO GAME category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWO (2) video games released within the last SEVEN (7) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as being release on ONE (1) of the following:

  • PlayStation 4 (2013), 4 Pro (2016), or 5 (2020)
  • PlayStation Vita (2012-2019)
  • Xbox One (2013), One X / One S (2020)
  • Nintendo Switch (2017)
  • Google Stadia (2019)
  • PC (AAA games only)
  • Mobile (AAA games only)
  • Virtual Reality (commercially-available and distributed via STEAM or Oculus store)

You MUST also provide a RESUME that includes a list of all released/launched projects and credits from the last FIVE (5) YEARS, with these categories of information:

  • Year of release/launch
  • Title of the project/production
  • Credit received
  • Format (e.g. XR/VR/AR, special venue, video game, digital short, etc)
  • Form of distribution/exhibition (e.g. platform, console, website, etc) *
  • # of episodes (if applicable)
  • Running time (if applicable) - Or cumulative running time of all episodes combined

SPECIAL VENUE

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the SPECIAL VENUE category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWO (2) MEDIA-DRIVEN EXPERIENCES with runtimes of at least FIFTEEN (15) MINUTES or THREE (3) MEDIA-DRIVEN EXPERIENCES with runtimes of at least THREE (3) MINUTES, released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS, each with QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION.

QUALIFYING DISTRIBUTION is defined as being release on ONE (1) of the following:

  • Exhibition for a minimum of six (6) months in one (1) location with at least 250,000 annual visitors OR two (2) locations with at least 30,000 annual visitors
  • Exhibition in special venue (i.e. non-Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI)-compliant) cinemas in at least two (2) cities with a population of over one million for at least one (1) week
  • Exhibition in special venue (i.e. non-Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI)-compliant) cinemas to at least 5,000 attendees total
  • Official selection in any of the film festivals listed under the Qualifying Film Festivals List.

You MUST also provide a RESUME that includes a list of all released/launched projects and credits from the last FIVE (5) YEARS, with these categories of information:

  • Year of release/launch
  • Title of the project/production
  • Credit received
  • Format (e.g. XR/VR/AR, special venue, video game, digital short, etc)
  • Form of distribution/exhibition (e.g. platform, console, website, etc) *

TRANSMEDIA

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the TRANSMEDIA category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on a MINIMUM of TWO (2) TRANSMEDIA PROJECTS released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS.

TRANSMEDIA projects or franchises must consist of a MINIMUM of THREE (3) NARRATIVE STORYLINES existing within the same fictional universe on any of the following platforms: Film (feature length or short), Television, Animation, Special Venue, Digital/Social Publishing, Immersive, Branded Content, and Gaming Console. These narrative extensions are NOT the same as REPURPOSING MATERIAL from one platform to be cut or repurposed to different platforms.

You MUST also provide a RESUME that includes a list of all released/launched projects and credits from the last FIVE (5) YEARS, with these categories of information:

  • Year of release/launch
  • Title of the project/production
  • Credit received
  • Format (e.g. XR/VR/AR, special venue, video game, digital short, etc)
  • Form of distribution/exhibition (e.g. platform, console, website, etc) *
  • # of episodes (if applicable)
  • Running time (if applicable) - Or cumulative running time of all episodes combined

IMMERSIVE MEDIA

To be eligible for consideration in the Producers Guild under the IMMERSIVE MEDIA category, you MUST have a qualifying credit on eligible projects released within the last FIVE (5) YEARS which meet ONE (1) of the following criteria:

  • TWO (2) immersive experiences of FOUR (4) MINUTES or longer that have been distributed on major VR distribution stores platforms (e.g. Meta Quest, Google Play, Steam, VIVEPORT, Windows Mixed Reality)
  • TWO (2) immersive experiences of FOUR (4) MINUTES or longer that have been publicly exhibited as long-term attractions at one or more location-based entertainment attractions, and attended by at least 10,000 ATTENDEES over the duration of the attraction
  • THREE (3) immersive experiences of FOUR (4) MINUTES or longer that have been publicly exhibited at short-term event that was attended by at least 5,000 ATTENDEES
  • FIVE (5) immersive experiences that have been publicly exhibited at an event or location that has been attended by at least 500 ATTENDEES
  • TWO (2) immersive experiences of FIVE (5) MINUTES or longer that have been publicly exhibited for a minimum of SIX (6) MONTHS in ONE (1) LOCATION with at least 250,000 annual visitors or TWO (2) LOCATIONS with at least 30,000 annual visitors; OR as an official selection in any of the film festivals listed under the Qualifying Film Festivals List

You MUST also provide a RESUME that includes a list of all released/launched projects and credits from the last FIVE (5) YEARS, with these categories of information:

  • Year of release/launch
  • Title of the project/production
  • Credit received
  • Format (e.g. XR/VR/AR, special venue, video game, digital short, etc)
  • Form of distribution/exhibition (e.g. platform, console, website, etc) *

MULTIPLE FORMATS

The Producers Guild recognizes that professional producers may work in a variety of formats and will consider applicants with a mixed body of work, so long as each project meets the respective eligibility criteria of the formats previously mentioned in this section.
