Distribution aggregators, direct-to-consumer or non-curated distribution platforms cannot be used to qualify an independently produced film or series for membership. Due to the evolution of how streamers curate their content, the PGA exercises discretion in approving any platform that is listed or yet to be listed, as a qualifying form of distribution.
In order to consider any streaming platform that is not listed, each of the following requirements must be met:
- Platform must have a wide subscriber base
- Number of subscriptions are publicized or from a trustworthy 3rd party source
- Curated content platforms only; streamers that function as an uncurated digital marketplace are prohibited
