Strategies for Sustaining Yourself as an Indie Producer

Confluential Films: 12820 Panama St, Los Angeles, CA (+ by Zoom)

Monday, October 28 – 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PDT

The Board of Directors has recently approved the formation of a new Independent Producer Committee open to anyone within the Producers Guild. Please visit My Committees to become a member of this group. This new committee is dedicated to empowering members through educational offerings, developing a rich repository of resources and knowledge-sharing, and facilitating valuable networking opportunities. The goal is to foster and grow a strong community of independent producers within the broader Guild through a mix of moderated discussions and open forums. These spaces will encourage collaboration and meaningful connections, helping indie producers build relationships and thrive within the Guild's network. Please join Committee Chairs Christina Oh (Minari, Nightbitch) and Tommy Oliver (Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project, Fancy Dance). The conversation will focus on the current landscape of independent production, including strategies for how to build a project – or a company – from the ground up. The session will cover innovative tactics producers are employing to successfully bring independent films to fruition under challenging conditions.
