Nominees for the Producers Guild Innovation Award Announced

Award Honors Outstanding Innovations in VR, AR, Experiential, and Other Interactive or Immersive Media

 

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced nominees for The PGA Innovation Award ahead of the 35th Annual Producers Guild Awards. The PGA Innovation Award recognizes the production of a noteworthy, impactful emerging media program that significantly elevates the audience’s viewing experience.

The recipient of the 2024 PGA Innovation Award, as well as the PGA Award-winner of the Short Form category, will be announced during the Nominee Celebration Event on the evening of February 22nd in Los Angeles, and highlighted at the PGA Awards ceremony on the evening of Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom.

The PGA Innovation Award is juried and not voted on by the membership of the Producers Guild. This year’s jury was chaired by Joanna Popper, Eric W. Shamlin and Chris Thomes. The complete blue ribbon jury included:

Programs released between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 were eligible for consideration. The PGA Innovation Award is presented to the production as a whole, not to individual producers. As such, the producers are not required to go through the PGA Awards eligibility determination process. There have been three productions awarded since the award’s inception, including: “Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode 1” (2019); “For All Mankind: Time Capsule” (2022); and “Stay Alive, My Son” (2023).
