As AI tools become increasingly integrated into development, production, post, marketing, and distribution, producers are being asked to navigate a fast-changing mix of creative opportunity, legal complexity, and practical risk. This session will explore the key questions producers should be asking as they engage AI vendors and workflows: What rights are implicated when AI is used in a commercial production? Where does liability sit in cases of infringement, misuse, or unauthorized replication? How should producers evaluate vendor terms to protect their IP, their talent, and their projects? The conversation will also examine recent developments in regulation, and industry practice, giving attendees a grounded, up-to-date view of the current AI landscape and the producer’s role in leading through it.
