Office Hours: Health Benefit Options for Producers (CA and western states)
This webinar was designed to offer clear guidance on insurance options available to producers and to help answer or direct member questions to other resources. PGA staff shared information on eligibility criteria and steps for applying to the Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plan. The Guild also shared information on what it’s requesting of those with production companies that would like to sign onto our pledge to support health care coverage for producers on their productions.

Additionally, experts in the field helped members understand COBRA, Medicaid/MediCal, Affordable Care Act plans, and Medicare. They shared how to estimate sporadic income in the industry and learn if you're eligible for free insurance or subsidies to reduce your premiums. Cut through insurance propaganda and consumer myths and understand how to find an affordable plan that’s right for you. This was an excellent opportunity for unbiased, comprehensive information.

Two sessions were held with the same speakers. The session covering CA and western states was held on June 11, 2025; the session covering NY tri-state, GA and the east coast was held on June 18, 2025.

Speakers Included:

Susan Sprung, CEO, Producers Guild of America
Susie Casero, General Counsel, Producers Guild of America
Annette Greene, Health Insurance Broker. Director, Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions, Motion Picture Television Fund
Renata Marinaro, LMSW, social worker, health insurance broker, and Managing Director of Health Services for the Entertainment Community Fund
