Nominations in Documentary Motion Pictures Announced

THE PGA ANNOUNCES 2023 PRODUCERS GUILD AWARD NOMINEES
FOR DOCUMENTARY MOTION PICTURES

 

LOS ANGELES, CA – (December 12, 2022) Today the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced the 2023 Documentary Motion Picture nominees that will advance to the final round of voting for the 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards.

The films nominated for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures are listed below in alphabetical order:

  • All That Breathes
  • Descendant
  • Fire of Love
  • Navalny
  • Nothing Compares
  • Retrograde
  • The Territory

Note: These films are in the process of being vetted for individual producer eligibility.

The Producers Guild Awards honors excellence in motion picture and television productions, as well as the most notable names in the industry who are shaping the producing profession. Last year, producers Joseph Patel, David Dinerstein, and Robert Fyvolent were honored with the award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Picture for “Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” which documented the Black history, culture, music, and fashion of the Harlem Cultural Festival which took place over six weeks in the summer of 1969.

Nominees for Sports, Children’s and Short Form Television Programs will be announced this Friday, December 16. The nominees for Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Television Series/Specials, and Televised/Streamed Motion Pictures will be announced on Thursday, January 12.

Winners will be honored during the 34th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Each year the PGA Awards are attended by Hollywood elite and have honored the industry’s biggest players including Robert De Niro, Jane Fonda, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Jordan Peele, Brad Pitt, Shonda Rhimes and many more. Additional information about this year’s highly anticipated awards show and its ancillary pre-events will be announced soon. 

The 2023 Producers Guild Awards Event Chairs are Mike Farah Chief Executive Officer at Funny Or Die and Joe Farrell, Chief Creative Officer at Funny Or Die. The 2023 Producers Guild of America Awards are produced by Anchor Street Collective for the Producers Guild of America. Branden Chapman is Executive Producer, Carleen Cappelletti is Co-Executive producer, Matt Ullian and Jane Sarkin of Boldface Partners are talent executives, and Jim Piccirillo is Director. The PGA Awards team also includes Diane Salerno (Six Degrees Global) managing sponsorship, and the PGA’s PR agency of record, Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis for PR.
