Fireside chats spotlight top film and television producers and executives as they offer insight into how they source, evaluate, acquire and release projects that can break through in today's competitive global marketplace.

What's Ahead in Producing

  • The New Must See: Producing the Future of TV – Sponsored by YouTube
    • What does producing look like when audiences expect more than just something to watch? Today's most successful creator-led shows on YouTube aren't just built for passive viewing; they're designed to spark conversation, fandom, participation, and community in real time.
    • In two solo conversations, Michelle Khare and Brittany Broski discuss how they approach storytelling for modern audiences, from eventized viewing and unconventional interview formats to building trust and loyalty through authenticity and direct engagement. Together, the conversations will explore how YouTube's creator-producers blend premium production with internet-native instincts to build global audiences that feel personally invested in the content.
    • As the boundaries between television, digital media and online communities continue to shift, this session offers a candid look at the creative and strategic thinking shaping the next era of entertainment. Moderated by Tiffany Taylor (Video Host & Producer, The Hollywood Reporter).
      • Speakers: Brittany Broski (Creator, Producer, and Host, ROYAL COURT), Michelle Khare (Creator, Producer, and Host, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED)
  • The State of Producing
    • If there's one constant in the industry, it's continuous change. This conversation will examine the current state of producing, how the role is changing, and the strategies helping producers move projects forward. Our panel will reflect on the past year and where the process is headed next. Moderated by Cynthia Littleton (Co-Editor in Chief, Variety).
      • Panelists: Charles Roven (Founder of Atlas Entertainment | Producer, OPPENHEIMER, THE DARK KNIGHT), Joy Gorman Wettels (TV/Film Producer and Founder of Joy Coalition | Executive Producer, 13 REASONS WHY, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE), Mike Farah (Executive Producer, BETWEEN TWO FERNS WITH ZACH GALIFIANAKIS, Producer, WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY)
  • The Art and Craft of Pitching (Excerpt available to all; PGA members-only access for full video)
    • This session demystifies the pitching process through a live, interactive forum. Select PGA members each give a three-minute pitch presentation to a panel of producers and executives across television and film. Panelists then give candid feedback on how projects are evaluated, positioned, and refined. Moderated by Joe Farrell (Executive Producer, AMERICAN VANDAL, Producer, WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY).

  • Artificial Intelligence: The Terms & Conditions
    • As AI tools become increasingly integrated into development, production, post, marketing, and distribution, producers are being asked to navigate a fast-changing mix of creative opportunity, legal complexity, and practical risk. This session explores the key questions producers should be asking as they engage AI vendors and workflows: What rights are implicated when AI is used in a commercial production? Where does liability sit in cases of infringement, misuse, or unauthorized replication? How should producers evaluate vendor terms to protect their IP, their talent, and their projects? The conversation will also examine recent developments in regulation, and industry practice, giving attendees a grounded, up-to-date view of the current AI landscape and the producer’s role in leading through it. Members can access the slides here.
